                            TEEN MUMS

Eating watermelon has always been my favourite stress reliever. Just by seeing its natural reddish color with tiny seeds attached as you slice it, along with its fruit juice makes me wanna taste and crave for it over and over again. I always have this feeling that i must atleast have one bite to that seductive fruit to complete my day. As i grow up and adapt to changes in my environment, i've been noticing girls with watermelon-like tummy. It's funny how i described it but as i look at it more deeper, i started realizing how it became a serious matter to the point that it can instantly change a teenager's life.
As time goes by, the rate of teenage pregnancy here in the country continues to grow making the Philippines known having  one of the highest early teenage pregnancy rate in the world. Here are some facts:
•In January this year, the commission projected the Philippine population to reach  107.9 million by December 31, 2018
•The Philippines Statistics Authority said that teenage pregnancy remains high with nine percent of women aged 15-19 already becoming mothers
•Every hour, 24 babies are born to teenage mothers; that's 500 everyday.

And many teenagers having more than one child before they could even reach their twenties!
•Data from the PSA has found more than 18,000 girls between the ages of 15-19 have had a second child.
See how shocking it is? The teenagers who supposed to enjoy their highschool lives studying, having a bonding time with their family and friends, are now carrying a great responsibility on their shoulders to raise their children, feed them, dress, and send them to school with their own income.
But, they wouldn't be able to do so, if they don't have enough money for them to provide for their family. Since they didn't finished their education, they would automatically be jobless and eventually, they will only be a burden to the country making another problem such as Poverty and Broken family.
So as early as it should be, we must first think a hundred times before making a life-changing descision. With just one blink of an eye and one snap of our fingers, we will face the consequences of our actions.
As of now, learn to make priorities. Identify your goals and objectives in life.
      •Focus on studies
•Make your family and your experiences as your inspiration
•As much as possible, do not engage in any relationships till you finish your education.
However, at the end of the day, you yourself is the one who will make the descicion. Be a good pilot of your own plane. Make it fly as high as you can and make sure you'll have a good landing.
They say, "It's hard to raise a child when you're a child" and it's true. How can you teach your child when you also lack? There's more of a bright future ahead of you. Do not exchange it into something you'll regret at the end. Remember, watermelon is more sweeter when riped. Don't pick it yet.
